A well-crafted suit is the result of a harmonious balance between fabric quality and fit - choosing a fabric is just as important as choosing the right tailor. If you are serious about your clothing or just have a slight interest in clothes, you have most likely heard the term "Super Wool".

But do you know what it actually means?

The "Super" grading system was first created by IWTO (International Wool & Textile Organisation). Their goal was to provide a clear framework for classifying the integrity and quality of wool.

This grading system can be used on wool fabrics that are at least 95% pure, with the additional 5% being accounted for by the inclusion of other materials such as cashmere and silk.

Below is a table of Super grades and their corresponding wool fiber diameters.

The higher the super number, the thinner the fiber, the higher the thread count, and thus the finer the fabric.

A higher "super" grade will typically be higher in price given the fineness of the wool fiber. The finer the fabric, the more superior the finish, flexibility, and comfort. When buying a suit, functionality is quite essential. Consideration must be given to how often the suit will be worn and for what occasions it will be used.

Having a suit cut from Super 200 can prove to be an entirely wrong choice for regular use – Super 200 would be much better for a suit worn only occasionally. A suit cut from Super 100, 120 would be durable and a good choice if the need is for a quality suit that can also withstand daily wear. A little tip: buy an extra pair of trousers if possible. Trousers always wear out before the jacket; with extra trousers, you significantly extend the lifespan of your suit.

Therefore, it is important to have a clear idea of what you need - whether it's durability, lightness, wrinkle resistance, warmth retention, etc.

Of course, JK Mens Businesswear will guide you every step of the way, ensuring that you choose the right suit for the right occasion!

We have approximately 2000 fabrics to choose from with the Made-to-Measure concept, meaning most tasks can be handled, as well as extra trousers or perhaps a waistcoat??
